The Zitzkat Law Firm was founded in 1981 in Hartford, Connecticut

While the firm Initially served the broad needs for immigration legal services in the community, Attorney Zitzkat's practice focus changed nine years later with the advent of new legislation. The Immigration Act of 1990 created a new set of classifications in Immigration Law, including the Emplovment-Based (EB) categories.

With that change in the law, STEM professionals sought the services of attorneys who were both highly science-literate and competent in immigration law to prepare winning cases for them. Attorney Zitzkat ‘s unique background proved to be a perfect match for their needs.

Attorney Zitzkat also served as an Adjunct at the University of Connecticut School of Law for 10 years (1986 - 1996) lecturing in Immigration Law. This was a part-time evening position while he was running his legal practice in immigration.

As the principal of the firm, Attorney Zitzkat, brought and continues to bring, critical skills, knowledge, and life experience to the table. These include the following:

  • A graduate of the University of Connecticut school of law with decades of experience enabling thousands of clients to achieve their immigration goals

  • A Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania

  • A background in science and technology

  • A first-hand experience of being a non-immigrant worker himself at one time, while working as an American in France for three years prior to going to law school

He worked in computer technology for an American-owned French Computer Company, C.I.I. C.H.B., known more commonly as Honeywell Bull, a subsidiary of the U.S. company, Honeywell Information Systems.

He currently limits his practice to EB-1As, EB-1Bs, NIWs and O-1 Non-Immigrant visas.

The Firm Now

Prior to the advent of Covid-19 in March 2020. Attorney Zitzkat operated a law practice in Avon. Connecticut. Initially, the firm's transition to working from home was seen as a temporary measure. However, Attorney Zitzkat came to appreciate this style of practice and his clients liked it, too. Like many businesses, the firm has fully transitioned to one which works without any brick-and-mortar presence.

Attorney Zitzkat now limits his acceptance of new cases to those which match his areas of expertise.
